Mitchell County Democratic Convention Report
New Chair Christine Purdy receives "gavel" from outgoing Chair Doug Sudduth.
A good time was had by all at our county convention. The Jesse Canipe Award was presented to Mary Sue Wilson and new officers were elected for 2009-2010: Chair-Christine Purdy, 1st Vice Chair-Ron McKinney, 2nd Vice Chair-Matt Grindstaff, Secretary-Virginia Hunt and Treasurer-Bob McFerren. Guest speakers were Jeremy Robinson of the Yancey County Young Democrats and Jo Sam Queen, North Carolina State Senator.
